Data and Research: Research

Research around high-risk drinking by college students and the effectiveness of prevention strategies is an essential tool for tackling this issue.

While there are many sources for finding research on alcohol use and abuse, here are two which focus on high-risk drinking by college students:

The Culture of College Drinking- This site has information from the National Institute for Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism's (NIAAA) College Drinking Task force, including research the task force considered when making its recommendations to the nation about how to effectively reduce high-risk drinking by college students.

Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention- The Higher Education Center is a tremendous resource of the most recent research, prevention strategies, and educational materials regarding substance abuse on college campuses.
