February 2005. Maine's Higher Education Alcohol Prevention Partnership was highlighted as a model statewide prevention initaitive at the annual National Meeting for Campus Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention in Arlington, VA. Becky Ireland, HEAPP's Coordinator, co-presented a workshop with Jerry Anderson from the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention about how statewide intiatives can strengthen campus prevention efforts.

August 2004. Maine’s Higher Education Alcohol Prevention Partnership (HEAPP) conducted a series of trainings on high-risk alcohol use prevention for Resident Assistants (student staff members in campus housing). In total fourteen campuses and over 400 Resident Assistants participated in these trainings. This interactive training was designed to empower residential life staff to decrease the negative effects of high-risk drinking on individuals, campuses, and communities by proactively creating a lower-risk environment.
